How should I prepare and cook live brown crab?

Handling: Store in its breathable packaging in the fridge until ready to cook. Do not submerge in fresh water.

Humane Preparation: Place the live crab in the freezer for 30–40 minutes before cooking to render it completely dormant.

Boiling Instructions:

Bring a large pot of heavily salted water (like seawater) to a rolling boil.

Boil for 15 minutes for a 1kg crab, adding 2 minutes for every extra 250g.

Immediately transfer to an ice bath to stop cooking and preserve tender meat.

How does live delivery work and how long do they keep?

Chilled Delivery: Shipped in specialized insulated boxes with damp seaweed or cool packs (0°C to 4°C) to keep them moist and active.

Refrigeration: Best cooked on the day of arrival. If needed, store in the coldest part of your fridge under a damp towel and cook within 24 hours.
